Circus for Construction opened this weekend at the Harbor Arts Festival! The Circus is a mobile event space traveling to several cities in the northeast this Fall and is designed and built by a group of five designers, including Ann Lui (SMArchS 14) and Larisa Ovalles (SMArchS 16). A number of us made it out to celebrate the opening, enjoy the view from East Boston, and check out HarborArts. You can read more about Circus here, and see some photos below from the opening! If you missed this event, Circus will set up at the Boston Architecture Expo on October 28 & 29 and at the Lawn on D (also the site of Howeler + Yoon’s Swingtime) October 31 – November 2; read about the weekend events here.
If you need a break from studio: “Labor in a Single Shot”, curated by Antje Ehmann and Harun Farocki, opened at the Mills Gallery at Boston Center for the Arts last week. Ehmann and Farocki invited filmmakers worldwide to document labor in continuous shots of 2 minute. Boston is one of the fifteen cities and the exhibition at the BCA is the only site to feature films from each of the workshops. BCA and the Goethe Institute-Boston will host a three-day symposium on the project in mid-November.
